    A strand of about 141 red and green Recycled Glass Fancy Rondelle beads on string 22" long. Each bead is about 9x4 mm. These recycled beads were bought directly from the small factory in Accra, Ghana where the artisans hand make the beads in the labor intensive method of their ancestors from crushing glass to baking the final product in wood ovens.

  • There is a small village, Kokofrom just outside Kumasi, Ghana where there are artisans who make lost wax brass beads in the same way as their ancestors. I asked them to create some closures for Funky Frog and this was the most exotic one! Each half of the closure is about 35mm. The closures are hand made so will vary in size and shape. The artisans use whatever scrap metal they can get their hands on form old taps to pipes to .. but they call it 'brass'.  
  • During 2018 Bead Hunt Funky Frog made a big order from the Kokofrom Cooperative outside Kumasi. These hooks and eyes were made especially for Funky Frog . The process these metal smiths are using is the same as their ancestors... back then it was gold now it is any metal they can get their hands on!! If you would like to see the intricate process check out the blog here ... The brass hooks are 20 mm and the eyes are 17 mm. $4/hook + eye
  • A strand of about 117 translucent Butterscotch Recycled Glass Rondelle beads on string 20" long. Each beads is around 4x13 mm. These recycled glass beads were purchased straight from the small factory which hand crafts them using the methods of their ancestors, from crushing recycled bottles all the way to firing them in a wood burning oven.
  • A strand of opaque Lime Green Rondelle Recycled Glass beads on string 22" long. These recycled beads were bought directly from the small factory in Accra, Ghana where the artisans hand make the beads in the labor intensive method of their ancestors from crushing glass to baking the final product in wood ovens.

  • A strand of opaque robin's egg blue (maybe just a bit lighter) Disk Recycled Glass beads on string 22" long. These are great spacer beads adding a lively accent.
