For the 4th day of the Bead Hunt we got off to a good start on our trek to Kumasi … Google maps promised us a 4 hr trip .. but they didn’t take into account these utter mammoths on the way ..
but Dela is like the wily Coyote whipping his way through them like a hot knife through butter!!! … with a lot of omgs and bracing myself against the seat 😂 and Dela saying oh, anita relax!!! we made it in excellent time!!! (Clara, you have a kindred spirit in Dela!!!) …. the roads have been improved but we hit one stretch of red earth that brought me back to other trips where i really felt like in the Wild West for very long stretches!!!
We popped in to see the Kokofrom Metal Smiths .. they are going to make me some cool bells !!!
It was so good to see their friendly faces and then it was off for a beer at the hotel .. a well earned one, Dela!!!
Again you can see what the hazy atmospere the Harmattan brings … but there is nothing like a cold beer on a very hot day… Tomorrow is the biggest market in Western Africa … Kejetia Market! .. and more beads!!! …..cheers!!
