Aylos Bay Resort is a haven of peace on the river … one of my favourite places.
Leaving our little oasis in Aylos Bay on our way to Ho we stopped to check out a relatively new resort Afrika – they have a really fun restaurant in Accra so Dela thought I might like to see it. The sign on the tree was promising 🤣🌞 it was a gorgeous place – a peek at how Ghana could look 😍 .. lush and green and African ! Wonderful!
Dela stopped to get some water and to say hi to his cousin- the lovely bright faces of the girls selling to the cars… (She is asking Dela if he wants two bottles of water by the way!! Ghanians are the kindest, friendliest people around!! )
… at Marisol Hotel it was good to be back to such familiar surroundings.. been coming to Ho for so long!!! I checked out my bead haul so far – pretty nice haul so far!! But haven’t even been to two favourite bead makers yet!! Tet and TK are a must stop… never mind there’s still time meanwhile it’s that time of day again!!!!
… and after an afternoon of sorting out all the bead stuff like what i need to buy for who ( so lucky some clients have actually asked me to find some special beads for them!! ) i felt again that i deserved this relaxing moment! Cheers!
…..and just an aside here… I have been coming to the White House for a long time. When i volunteered here the second time years ago we would meet up here for cold beer and food. And over the years i have dropped in each visit cause it is so close to the Marisel Hotel. However this time it has changed hands!!! And they only serve beer …. i was so hungry the owner took pity on me and ordered a perfect meal for me from someone in the neighbourhood!! My go to food here (i’m vegetarian): vegetables and egg fried with spaghetti with some super spicy sauce!! Yum!! Perfect … and while i was waiting he got someone else in the neighbourhood to bring me popcorn!!! So i was so well set up!! This is Ghana .. people will go out of their way to help you. And for those cynics he charged me only what he was charged… of course i added some when i realized that and told them how much i appreciated innitiative and caring!!
Way to go Ghana!!!!
