Met Dela for coffee at the Country Kitchen this morning … this restaurant is the main reason why i seem to always come back to the Knust Guest Hotel. Country Kitchen is right accross the street. It has a thatched roof and is open on all the sides so you really feel outside … Knust Guest Hotel is really nice but like so many Ghanaian hotels the restaurant is in a room with all the curtains drawn and totally indoors! As a Canadian having escaped snow and cold being outside is a must!!!
We set off for our adventure and i saw the perfect bag to bring my beads home going by … Dela called out for the bag seller to stop.. and i got two. He makes them out of the tatami mats you can find at the market here…
We continued on to Agbloblushie Market for a last visit to the bead stalls there … i had my eye on a couple strands of gorgeous beads i hadn’t seen anywhere else …
….and anyways i do love visiting this market!! It is one of the largest in the area… and gives you a feeling of the teaming Life i keep talking about!!! .. A truck full of plantains had pulled in and so everyone was selling plantains!!!
Next we went off to check out the Green Butterfly Market which i follow on Instagram … so nice to see the real thing. It is in a rich neigbourhood of Accra and had lots of tourists …
Finally i ended the day at the same place i started!!! … the Country Kitchen. I had Red Red and fried Plantains!! … i like to think they came from Agboblushi Market!!! All of these photos were taken by Dela!!!
