Sundays are still a day of rest here in Ghana … well for most people. The Cultural Center is always hopping! This is a sprawling market for artisans … most tourists make a stop here!! Lots of souvenirs but some really beautiful work… i always love the carvings and masks.. This was definitely a day of window shopping only …
We checked out the fishing village in Jamestown…Jamestown is one of the oldest districts of Accra. Today it is one of the poorer neighbourhoods of Accra .. but still very vibrant.
And then we cooled off at Rising Phoenix, a little Rasta Bar on the cliff overlooking the ocean. Sadly it is a bit rundown now but when i first came to Ghana way back it was a hopping little place.. the view is still amazing and we could watch the neigbourhood kids splashing and riding the waves …..
