We left Bolga to head back … and arrived in Tamale. I decided to treat myself and stay at one of the nicest hotels in Ghana. It has a really beautiful terrace kind of area with huge shade trees where one can sit and have a nice cold beer but before that…

It is market day in Tamale so we decided to go take a walk around. This time we used one of the new Can-dos that are getting as prolific as the very prolific motorbike… Being in this little three wheeler made the traffic quite up close and personal!!

…..couldn’t resist! my first touristy photo!!

The Rainy Season up North is definitely gone and the sun is scorching so it was nice to duck in to the Market which is hundreds of stalls with lots of sun umbrellas .. so it is quite shaded. Lots of hustle and bustle … Dela bought his supply of shea butter – a huge round ball that kind of looks like hard dough but is good for the skin … he says it will last his family a couple of years…

…..definitely watermelons and… oranges are in season!

Then we hop back in a Can-do and head back… we buy a watermelon just outside the entrance of the hotel. Back in the beautiful courtyard we ask for the watermelon to be cut up for us … and order that nice cold beer!! The watermelon is so delicious … and thirst quenching. It is like my whole system just wants that watermelon …

Later i had sphagetti … yes i was turning into a grain of rice so Dela had the great idea of switching to sphagetti … so i have become quite the expert on sphagetti in Ghana … and i must say i had the very Best one here … they made it with fresh tomatos and hot peppers… it was lovely and spicy and fresh!! A nice end to a fun day ….
