These Vintage Red Vinyl Beads are strung on string and a strand is 34″ long.The majority of the ‘heishi’ beads are about 19 mm. You will receive one of the strands of beads in the photos (the strands are very similar). These Vinyl Beads make great spacer beads. There is a band of mixed yellow and red vinyl beads which are about 14mm. These unique thin disc (heishi) beads which are made with vulcanite, a vulcanized hard rubber and traces of vinyl (some of the older vinyl beads are made from recycled vinyl records) are a very popular item at Funky Frog. There are new Vinyl Beads in all sorts of bright vivid colours and sizes. The new vinyl beads are slightly rougher and not as smooth and silky as the older vintage vinyl beads. These older Vintage Vinyl Beads are sought after and are becoming harder to find. The Vintage Vinyl Beads will be labeled Vintage. These beads were bought in the Agormanya Market from the wonderful Bead section there... from the stall of the Queen of the market. She introduced these beads using old material to make heritage beads very much in the old style. There are two strands to choose from. There are slight variations in the strands but the strands are quite similar. But these are handmade so will vary in colour, size and shape. -

During a Bead Hunt Funky Frog made a big order from the Kokofrom Cooperative outside Kumasi. These bells were made especially for Funky Frog . The process these metal smiths are using is the same as their ancestors... back then it was gold now it is any metal they can get their hands on!! If you would like to see the intricate process check out the blog here ... These large brass bells are about 23 mm across. The bells make a lovely jingle. There are now four sizes of these bells, small, medium, large and Xtra large. These are the Xtra large sized. $6/bead -
