These Recycled Glass beads have an earthy, natural feel and look. Ghana is famous for these recycled beads made from recycled glass bottles. Option 1 is a strand of about 40 17 mm translucent Black Recycled Glass Beads on string 25" long. Option 2 is one 17 mm translucent Black Recycled Glass Bead. These recycled beads were bought directly from the small factory in Accra, Ghana where the artisans hand make the beads in the labor intensive method of their ancestors from crushing glass to baking the final product in wood ovens. -

A strand of 6 hand painted Recycled Glass Beads. These beads are sometimes called bottle glass beads and once made are painted by hand. The design on some these beads resemble eyes and eye beads were used to ward off evil spirits and when worn would protect the wearer from harm. The bead is a bottle glass. These beads are handmade so will vary in size and colour. Each bead is about 12x14mm. You will receive a strand similar to one of the strands in the photo. This is a way for you to get a variety for your beading. If you would like a strand all the same colour please do not hesitate to contact us. And also remember for most of the strands we will be happy to break them up if you would like to have only a few. Gorgeous Ebony wood beads. Each large oblong bead is about 41x12 mm and the small ones are about 31x9 mm. These beads are a mix of dark ebony and various hues of amber. They make a real statement as a necklace strung togehter.. The trader in the Koforidua Market who sold these to me said they were "African Amber". A lot of beads are put under the name 'African Amber' but by any name they are gorgeous and add a certain something .... These beads are $3 each -
