This necklace took its inspiration from Ralph's Beads ... You can wear them in layers or singly .. both looks wonderful complimenting a lovely summer day! The necklace is made of all sorts of recycled glass beads: hand painted, translucent, sandcast, tubular, disk, round, large and small.... a real bead soup! Yum!!! These beads were bought directly from the Beadmakers in Akyem Abompe in Ghana where they are handcrafted in a very labour intensive process starting from mining the bauxite from the nearby hills to drilling the holes. These bauxite beads have become scarce as the young people leave the villages. -
